Members: The chess club has not started this year.

Purpose: Our purpose is to challenge our minds against an intellectual game of chess.

The Rook. Often called the castle by amature chess players, the rook moves in a straight line as far as it wants until colliding with a wall or another peice.
The Knight. Often called the horse by amature chess players, the knight moves in a "L" shape moving two spaces then one more space forming a right angle with the first two spaces. Ther knight can also jump over other peices.
The Bishop. This peice is one of the most valuable peice in the game. It has the ability to move diagonally until it hits a wall or another peice.
The King. The most important peice in chess and arguably the worst. This piece may only move one space in any direction unless it makes the castle move. That is when neither the king nor the closest rook have moved and the path between them is clear. The king then switches place with the rook and (possibly) is lead to safety. If the king is taken you lose the game.
The Queen. The strongest and most useful peice on the board. This peice can move in any direction that you wish as far as you wish until it hits a wall or another peice.
The Pawn. Easily the most underrated peice on the board the pawn may become anything you want. Even another Queen! All you have to do is place him at the opponents side of the board.

Chess board set up

The Board is an 8 square by 8 board. Secound row up from the edge there is a pawn piece for every square all the way across the board. The board is always set up so there is a white space at the bootom left corner. The row at the end of the board starting at the left corner the pieces go as following Rook, Knight, Bishop, King, Queen, Bishop, Knight, Rook. White always goes first and then the chess match begins.
