Winter Wonderland?

New York is known for its snow. Ski Club takes advantage of having the snow at Greek Peak.
On any given Wednesday up to thirty Whitney Point students spending eight minutes to ride up the ski lift and anywhere from 2 minutes to 8 minutes to snowboard down.

The Whitney Point High school spends every Wednesday up on the mountain from 4 to 9 pm.
On most of the occasions ski club was canceled for the week due to the lack of snow on the ground.
The Whitney Point School District has been taking students to Greek Peak for over twenty years. Its all about Dressing warm for the mountain ride. Kinds of clothing you would see on a skier or a snowboarder could be, snow pants, ski jackets, gloves, helmets and goggles.

One Skier from Whitney Point says he has been skiing for twelve years and four of them in the high school. During the time at Greek Peak, They offered games where if you answered a Greek Peak question you can win a t-shirt or a sweater. Joshua Miller won both of those prizes. If you are interested in joining ski club and are in our high school during the season, passes are about $400.
